Limoges Huge Stunning Ewer/Vase/Pitcher with Red/Pink/Yellow Roses, Ornate Handle & Bulbous Base

The ewer is a highly sought after and pleasing Guerin mold. It stands nearly 16" tall and is unique in several ways: the elaborate detailing of the ruffled mouth edge; its long sweeping tapered neck; the gracefully arched and twisted handle that run down the entire length; the raised scrolled detailing around the base; and its gently ribbed and bulbous bottom. Just an incredible shape made even more phenomenal when hand painted with magnificent roses against a fantastic back drop. Here, the artist has added soft splashes of blues, yellows and greens against a creamy white porcelain. Bursts of golden amber and jade green are mingled in and around the bottom edge and on the handle. Against this gorgeous palette the artist has hand painted large pink, red and yellow roses . Dainty pink roses start midway in the graceful neck area and tumble downward together with blue and gray shadow leaves. These smaller petite blooms gradually meet up with huge red and pink roses that cover the front and back and rest upon glorious sprigs of variegated foliage in shades of brown, green, and caramel. A lone beautiful yellow rose with dark golden highlights peek out between the heavily scrolled base.

The medley of colors on this ewer/pitcher/vase is astounding. The piece is in excellent condition and I see no loss or flakes to the painted areas. There are no flea bites. There are no cracks, chips, hairlines or spiders.

This Guerin ewer is a thing of beauty and would most definitely add to the richness and loveliness of any collection of hand painted porcelain.
