Limoges Large Porcelain Plaque with Pink and White Roses Ebony and Gold Embellished Old Wood Frame

The framed porcelain plaque/tray is of substantial size measuring 18" in diameter. The hand painted porcelain alone is 13.5". The original wood frame is painted a dark ebony black and has a highly raised elaborate outer edge which is embellished with heavy gold gilding. This magnificently rich border encircles an equally exquisite hand painted floral scene of pink and white roses. The back drop to this visual floral still life is done in a soft butter cream yellow and muted shades of olive and celery green. The hand painted roses in various stages of bloom have many layers of of petals with marvelous hues of the same color creating shadows and depths that few artists can capture. The pink roses have overtones of blue, purple, gray, mauve and red. The white roses are kissed with overtones of green, gray, pink and yellow. These blooms are surrounded by foliage in shades of gray, purple, red and green. The overall affect is one of sheer beauty and a serene sense of inner peace.

The porcelain plaque/tray and its frame are in excellent condition. I see no loss to the detailing on the wood frame. I see no loss to any area of the hand painted porcelain. The colors are truly wonderful and show no scratches or scuffs. There are no breaks or cracks to the frame or plaque. There are no flakes, spiders or hairlines. The plaque is wired and ready to be hung and enjoyed for years to come.
