Limoges Fabulous Pitcher/Tankard Red and Pink Roses with Twisted Vine Handle

The pitcher/tankard is enormous standing 15" tall. This pleasing, highly collected Limoges mold, has it familiar twisted vine handle encrusted with gold gild. The porcelain body of the pitcher/tankard is done in several shades of green, the bottom being a dark rich jade green which, moving upward, becomes a vivid grass green on the front all the way up to underneath the spout area, and a vibrant celery green around the back of the piece and handle area. Against this stunning porcelain canvas, the artist hand paints exceptionally huge pink and red roses with layers upon layers of petals. Their use of shading and technique of blending various hues of the same color create blooms that literally appear to be three dimensional. These roses swirl around the pitcher/tanker covering the front as well as the reverse side. Adding a pop of color are the fantastic life like foliage in shades of olive, green, yellow and golden amber. A finishing touched used by the artist is the fine frame like gold finish to the top mouth rim and the base.

The pitcher/tankard is in marvelous condition. There is no loss whatsoever to the painted surface. There are no scuffs or scratches. There are no flakes or flea bites. There are no cracks, chips, hairlines or spiders. There is but minimal wear to the gold on the highest points of the twisted vine handle.

If you are a collector of hand painted tankards, especially those with roses, this would most certainly be a must have acquisition!
