Limoges Amazing Rose Filled Gold Encrusted Dragon Handle Pitcher/Tankard Signed Lamer

The pitcher stands 10.5" tall. The porcelain is done in a soft pale butter cream yellow at the base that becomes a light celery green in areas around the low mid section, and finally deepens to a cool rich grass green in the upper areas and around the neck and spout. The gently rolling scalloped mouth rim is trimmed in heavy gold gild and a nice touch is added with the extra gold detailing in the inside spout region.

The artist uses this canvas to hand paint magnificent huge multi-layered roses that are incredibly life like. Their three dimensional presence is enhanced with strategic placement of raised brush strokes to the edges of certain petals. All the roses have deep vibrant centers with wonderful color contrasting created by shadows and complimentary hues accenting the curled edges of their petals. Even the lovely variegated green foliage that surrounds the swirling roses are embellished with raised detailing in the form of dew drops. Completing this work of art masterpiece is its familiar gold encrusted dragon handle whose tail snakes around the back of the pitcher.
