Tan colored glass is "fireglow" that is, it shows fire when held to the light. The pattern of flowers and leaves is done in a natural style and is hand painted in enamel and fired. In the nineteenth century these were made on both sides of the Atlantic and we can't say for certain whether it is Bristol glass or American made in that very popular style. The glass is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind. There is a very small area on one leaf where the artist's brush slipped before firing. This is not noticeable unless you look for it.
