Rare pr. French 19th C. ladies purple shoes metallic trim embroidery

Faded grandeur pair of late 19th century French hand made ladies shoes. A delicious confection consisting of purple velvet embellished with gold metallic trim / passementerie , hand embroidered gold metallic thread motifs. The Louis XVI style heals appear to made from stuc with a gilt finish. The shoes are lined with linen, glazed cotton and velvet . The number 42 is stamped on each sole at the toe. The shoes are in fairly overall condition. They have been worn and show signs of wear and damage to the gilded heals and the back of the right hand shoe and some light wear to the velvet in places. The shoes have taken on a wonderful faded grandeur air with an aged patina to the gold metallic trim and motifs and light fading.
