Large 19th C. French hand painted sedan chair display vitrine miniature

Measuring 14 1/2 inches high this rare 19th C. French miniature vernis martin style sedan chair / chaise a porteurs is absolutely enchanting and would make a splendid display vitrine for a larger antique doll or for small treasures. A wonderful confection consisting of a wooden display cabinet in the form of a sedan chair , with 3 bevelled glass panels and lined with claret colored silk fabric , hand painted with exquisite floral garlands, ribbons , scrolls and the most delicious frolicking cherub on a bronze ground. The vitrine has 2 wooden carriers and 2 glass shelves which could easily be removed , if one wanted to display a precious doll. This beautiful treasure has taken on a wonderful faded grandeur air , with some loss of paint and scratches and light damage to the fabric around the handle. All the glass panels and shelves are original and in good condition. A rare and utterly enchanting treasure for your delectation !
