Delicious French large floral brocade lithographed boudoir trinket box , dating from the 1900's. A wonderful confection, consisting of a large oval cardboard box, covered with a floral brocade fabric, embellished with metallic trim and the lid adorned with a charming lithographed 18th century bucolic scene , depicting a group of ladies and gentlemen passing the time of day together, watched by 2 scoundrels hiding in the bushes !! The interior of the box is lined with a pink floral material. The box is in good overall condition save for age related marks and stains with some foxing, the lithograph panel has dropped a touch in the top right hand corner ( please see last photo )but there is no wear to the fabric or litho . This charming treasure has taken on a faded grandeur air mellowed with the passing years and would be just perfect for period display. Please study the photos as these form part of the description, if you need more, please do not hesitate to ask.
