Delicious antique French gold silk bed- cover floral bow motifs trim tassels
What a wonderful find this was but alas I am unable to use it as it does not fit into any of my color schemes , so sadly I am relinquishing it. A delicious antique French, lined old gold colored silk bed-cover with floral bow and tassel motifs, ornamented with passementerie / trim and tassels. This charming cover is in quite good condition given it is silk and considering it's age, save some pulled threads, a few marks ( please see example in last photo ), light fading, creasing, the seams have become un-stitched under the bolster medallions as well as a little wear around the edges and the cream silk lining is shot in many places.In fact the cover and trim have survived much better than the lining. Despite it's imperfections it would make a delightful boudoir bed cover or the silk reused for many other period projects. Dimensions : 96 inches wide 90 inches long 55 inches wide between the bolster medallions approximate dimensions.
