Faded grandeur 19th C French tufted red & silk vanity dresser box

Delicious antique French imposing red tufted vanity / jewelry / dresser box , dating from the Napoleon III period. A wonderful faded grandeur confection consisting of worn red velvet box ornamented by decorative metal embellishments and handle, scrolled legs with floral motifs and a lined blue silk interior. The inside of the lid has a padded lining with red silk buttons and a bevelled oval mirror which is in good condition, there is a removable tray which is faded ,worn and has age related marks for storing rings and necklace's etc.... and has a hook for a fob watch . The 2 silk handles have fused as well as the silk coverings for the hinges. The lid opens and closes correctly but the key no longer turns the lock.
