Donald Stannard was first mentioned in Vogue magazine when he started his own line after being an assistant to Kenneth J. Lane. He has created stunning designs for broadway shows including-Evita and Hello Dolly as well as for television. From 1968 to 1972 his jewelry was personally made for Ginger Rogers, carol Channing, Mary Martin and many others. He continued to make jewelry for special clients in the movie industry up until his passing in 2006. Because of this his jewelry items were not made for the general public in many years and they are very difficult to find. This deco clip is a fine example of his creative and amazing workmanship. The design is gorgeous open work with brilliant clear glass stones set. The different shapes and sizes make a stunning look. All stones are bright and in place. The prongs on the back side are in great working order. The Stannard name is on the back side.
