Very rare set of two Asian face pins-Signed
This handsome set of earth tone ceramic pin are a most striking couple. They are made of ceramic material in a terra cotta color. The back of each is marked "by Kelgren". I have done some research to find more information and I cannot find much. They are exquisitely made in to the figures of a female and male Asian face. There are wonderful details and the faces are deeply accented with expression. The man has a great looking beard and long moustache and he is adorned with a little cap on his head . The lady is made much the same way and has a fancy head-dress and some wonderful long ornate earrings in her ears. Both are painted in a reddish color with rich gold accents. I am guessing this pair is from the 1950's as Asian items were so very popular and by the way they are made and the pin backs are of that era as well. They have a nice glaze on them and they are in super condition. The female is 1 1/4" by 2 1/4" and the male is 1 1/2" by 2 1/4"
