Antique English Oak Heavily Carved Knee Hole Desk, Bureau.

There are 9 drawers in total, all of which have an ornate hand carved front and filigree style, aged brass ring pulls. Each drawer also has a lock but no key.

It has the original black leather top with gold tooled edge which is slightly bubbled and worn but can easily be replaced.

It is finished on all sides with a wonderful tiger oak veneer so this piece could be free standing and look fabulous. It has a medium dark finish with a beautiful aged patina.

This piece comes in 3 sections where the top just slots on top of the 2 side pedestals. This was typical of desks like this. Each pedestal also has 4 small casters which are not original.

There is some splitting due to climate changes and some minor veneer loss which I have shown in the pictures and as you can see it only adds to the character and charm of a rustic piece like this. Over all it is in solid, sturdy condition with age appropriate flaws.
