Antique oak china cabinet, imported from England and dating back to the very early 1900's.
This is a fabulous rustic piece of English country furniture. It comes in 2 parts with the base housing 3 central drawers with an open display space below and flanked by 2 cupboards with swag design carved doors.
The hutch top has a beautiful leaded glass fixed panel in the center with a tulip design in red, green and yellow stained glass. This is flanked by 2 clear glass doors. Inside there are 2 narrow shelves with plate grooves and hooks. There is carved beading along the front of the shelves to match the beading on the elegantly shaped cornice.
The display hutch section stands on carved brackets to elevate it and create a very useful open server/buffet area instead of standing directly on the base. The whole thing stands on very unique carved scrolled and fluted bracket feet.
The cup handles on the 2 top drawers are not original but suit the piece well. There is the usual character forming wear that you would expect of a piece like this but nothing worthy of special note and it has developed a wonderful golden oak patina.
Over all this piece is in solid sturdy condition with only minor age appropriate flaws. All of the glass is in excellent condition.
