Antique English Mahogany Edwardian Inlaid Dressing Table With Mirror.

This dressing table displays pure quality with its discreet use of inlaid banding and stringing outlining and accenting its simple elegant shape.

The chest of drawers below consists of 2 drawers over one larger drawer with original decorative brass handles.

Mounted on top is the original oval, beveled, swivel, mirror which is in great condition for it's age. The mirror is supported by 2 slender posts with decorative metal finial. Below the mirror sits a single shelf flanked by 2 small drawers. The handles on these small drawers have been replaced at some point with handles of a similar age and shape to the originals on the chest drawers.

The tag inside the drawer shows the maker and reads 'J Hunter & Co, 16, 18 & 28 St Mary's Parsonage, Manchester'. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any information on this maker.

There is some minor splitting of the wood on each side due to climate change causing movement in the wood. There is also some scratches to one side and general wear throughout the piece. I have tried to show as much of this in the pictures and as you can see it does not take away from it's classic beauty.

The aged patina on this elegant piece of English heritage is simply breath taking. It is in solid sturdy clean condition with only minor age appropriate flaws.
