Antique mahogany chest of drawers, imported from England and dating back to around 1870.
There are 3 slightly graduating drawers with original large wooden knobs. The center of each knob and the escutcheon's are inlaid with mother of pearl adding a delicate touch.
This piece also features a very pretty scalloped back splash and the whole thing stands on original small porcelain casters.
There is some splitting to the sides due to the changes in temperature over the years and some fading to the top. There are also some old holes in the back splash and as if something was attached there at one time. All of this is shown in the pictures and does not take away from the over all beauty of the piece.
Despite the above mentioned flaws, this piece has developed a fabulous patina and still looks great. It is in solid, sturdy condition.
