Antique mahogany extending dining table imported from England and dating back to the very late 1800's.
It boasts a solid mahogany top with wonderful aged patina in reddish brown tones and stands on 4 chunky turned and reeded legs with original castors.
It is fitted with the original, fully functional wind out mechanism with brass plate showing the maker of the mechanism to be Joseph Fitter who patented the design. It can be extended to accommodate two leaves. Unfortunately, there is only one leaf, however a second one can easily be made by our restorer upon purchase of the table for around $300.
There is some very minor general wear and scratches in places and one 5 1/2" surface scratch on top which is pictured.
Over all this is a very elegant formal table in solid sturdy condition with very minor age appropriate flaws.
Dimensions: Length 48", leaf width 11 1/2", extends to 71", width 41 1/2", height 29 1/2".
