Antique English Davenport Desk Bureau.

Unique beautiful Victorian ship captains davenport desk imported from England and dating back to the late 1800's.

On the back top you will find a lift up letter compartment with decorative metal gallery. The slant top has the original worn leather inlay and lifts up to reveal a small storage space large enough to comfortable fit any size lap top.

There are 4 deep drawers to the right side. A sign of pure quality is that the furniture maker took the time to make imitation drawers to the left side in order to balance out the look of the piece. Both the real and fake drawers all retain the original arts and crafts metal handles.

The front boasts 2 elegantly turned columns and the whole thing stands on 4 small original castors.

There has been a repair to the right side of the base but this is very strong. There has also been a small repair to the wood near the left hinge of the desk top. As you can see from the picture these repairs are hardly noticeable and do not effect its sturdiness and functionality.

This piece has developed a beautiful patina over the years. It is in solid sturdy condition with some minor age appropriate wear which only adds to its character and charm.

Dimensions: width 21", depth 20 1/2", height 35".
