19th Century Brown Transferware Waverley Soup Bowl Thomas Edwards

This is a beautiful 19th Century brown transferware soup bowl by Thomas Edwards in the Waverley pattern. The border on this platter is very detailed. The center scene has a couple standing by a lake or river with a primitive shack and buildings in the background. The woman is carrying a basket and the man has a walking stick. It is a beautiful romantic setting. There are three stilt marks on the back. The manufacturers mark is incised and reads “Porcelain, T. Edwards, Opaque“.

It measures 10 3/8” in diameter and is ¾“ deep.

The soup bowl dates to 1841.

The condition is very good. There are some very minor manufacturing imperfections on the front and back of the bowl.
