This is a fabulous piece of history and not many of them come available - a nice little mug or tankard commemorating the investiture of Prince Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales on July 13, 1911 who was only 17 years old at the time. This event took place at Carnarvon Castle, the same where Prince Charles was presented with his title, the Prince of Wales in 1969.
This mug is in very good condition for just over 101 years old; is showing light crazing under magnification and has some minor gold wear on the lip of the mug. It is free of any chips or cracks. The decoration is very good to excellent with the colors nice and crisp. A must have for any King Edward VIII or Prince Edward, the Prince of Wales collector.
Measures 2-5/8" x 2-7/8" tall.
