I can't remember what this process is called, but I know it was popular at one time and rings like this are quite valuable. The flat, red oval has it's design etched all in gold markings including some Asian characters, and the main fish. Which is also filled in with white and black. This disc is bezel set into another gold tone or brass disc and this disc is what is held in the 'prongs'. There are 2 prongs on each side that look like some kind of duck's heads (although they each have a tooth, so they may be some mythical beast). The necks come down and they twirl together on top of the shank of the ring which is wide on the side and graduates down in the back. Ring is about 7/8" by 3/4". The metal may be brass, but I can't tell for sure. It has some oxidation of the metal which buyer can polish if desired. It is in great condition, and I don't like to disturb the patina on old pieces as this usually makes them more valuable.
