Paper mache decorated serving tray &wood stand Victorian
Offered is a Victorian painted paper tray with abalone shell inlay. The design is a lovely floral including a rose, forget me nots, lily of the valley, bluebells and more with green foliage. The abalone shell on the central part of the tray is in fine condition but the small pieces on the edge of the tray show loss. Overall the tray is in good condition with normal use. It shows crackling in the black on the front and the back which I believe had an adhesive to stick to the small table has discoloration. The tray measures approximately 25 3/4" across by 19" high; this measure is taken from the widest point. I would also note that it was found with a wonderful glass top which is likely tempered and shaped to fit inside the tray. If you don't want this shipped as it will add considerable weight, I will be happy to accommodate.
The small stand or table is probably later, but fits nicely with the tray. It is stained or painted black with pretty gilt decoration. The two items would need to be shipped separately for safety. Measurements for the stand are approximately 17" by 15" across the top and 16 1/4" high. The Queen Anne turned leg is very elegant and well done; I find it compliments the curves of the tray nicely
