Chinese brass planter dragon design
Offered is a Chinese brass planter dating from 1920 and made for the domestic market in China as it doesn't have a stamp. The scene depicted is a three toed dragon which indicates it was made for the business class. There is wear to to footing. Notice the water beneath the dragon and the sky above. It may be a Pen Chen fire dragon which would be 1916. This is a rare item as China was fighting Japan and most of their brass from this period was melted for cannons.
The condition is good but the three holes for drainage have been altered and the interior does have rust.
It weighs approximately 9 Lbs on my postal scale. Measures about 9 3/4" high and 10 1/2" in diameter across the top.
