Victorian lap robe sleigh/buggy mohair textile

Offered is a stunning lap robe from the Victorian era. First there is some wear to the fabric but the design is still very much evident. The colors and design are extraordinary and were achieved with at least three silk screening processes. The colors range from a cream background with light tobacco brown to stunning rich chocolate velvet.

Between the mohair is a cotton quilting which adds weight.

The lap rug has an overall design of flowers which I believe are daisies but I may be incorrect. The flowers are bordered with leaves and the center is a wispy cloud of tobacco brown swirling through. This is bordered with a tendril in chocolate or cocoa brown. The corners have been reinforced from my observation. On the reverse side is simply a deep rich almost reddish brown. I hope the photos display this. One problem was the photos show an area that is yellow and the color is really tan shading. The textile is a work of art.

It measures approximately 53 1/2" by 60". Weighs about 8 lbs on my postal scale.
