This oil lamp was made by Portieux in the late 19th Century. The color is rare and the oil lamp is rare. Never seen before in any book except in the Portieux Catalog which shows the candlestick but not the oil lamp.
This item stands 9 inches tall. The green color as well as the caramel color are rare and were made in the early days of Portieux as was the white opaque. However, the green color is the rarest of all Portieux colors followed by caramel. The name of this oil lamp pattern is Venetian Ordinaire. The catalog # is 1829 and you can see the candlestick in the 1933 catalog, but not the oil lamp. I dont believe this oil lamp was made in the 20th century and it dates to about 1894 or earlier.
This oil lamp is in excellent condition. There are some black specks as seen in the picture but this is normal for all glass.
