Antique Opaline Vallerysthal Elephant Rider - Late 1880's or before

This opaline glass elephant rider was made by Vallerysthal. This one is very old because of the opaline treatment. Usually see these in white milk glass but seldom in the opaline - indicating an early piece. It stands 6 inches tall and 7 inches long approximately. This is a butter dish but can be used as a candy dish or whatever you wish. There is old cold paint still on the piece but mostly gone. The mold work is fantastic as only the French can do. A wonderful old opaline covered butter dish. This item is signed vallerysthal(very faintly).

This item has a chip on the top cover near the elephant ear (see picture) hard to see because it looks more like an indentation than a chip - please see picture 1). There is minor roughness or tiny chips to the top of the cover. The bottom part has some roughness to the edges and straw stress marks on the inside and underneath. This item is being sold as is. If you require additional pictures please let me know. This piece is over 100 years old and seldom found without chips, straw stress marks.
