Rare Late Qing Polychrome Porcelain Statue of Zhongli Quan - One of the 8th Immortals - Signed China/Hand Molded

This is a late Qing (late 1890's/early 1900) polychrome porcelain statue of Zhongli Quan. He is one of the 8th immortals. Zhongli Quan was once a general serving in the army of the Han Dynasty. Zhongli Quan is the official leader of the eight immortals. Zhongli Quan is most frequently depicted with a bare belly and a huge chest. He carries a fan which has the power to resurrect the dead. Also, notice how the inside bottom has finger press marks, indicating a late 19th century piece.

This is the first time I have every seen a large polychrome statue of Zhongli Quan - he stands up to his head 9 l/2 inches and to this fingers 10 inches. A rare find. Notice how his fingers are well defined and you can also see his teeth. Expertly done in what I would consider "famille rose". This item is signed "China" and also signed by the manufacturer, but I am not able to translate the wordings. If anyone can identify the marking, please email me.

I see no defects. No chips, cracks, repairs.

Any questions, please email me.
