This is a jade carving of the Immortal Woman He. She is shown holding a lotus flower and this time with a fish. The fish is a symbol of wisdom, faith, freedom, wholeness and purity. The fish represents yang energy which brings good fortune. When seen together (the fish and the lotus flowers) symbolize "year after year may you live in affluence.)
This item with the stand is 9 3/4 inches high. This carving is attached to the stand and cannot be removed. The carving alone is 8 inches high.
Condition: I see a rough spot on the bottom portion of her robe. Please see picture. No other conditions to mention. This was purchased in Hong Kong in the 1970's I am told by a Floridian doctor who traveled to the orient. This was part of his large collection of jade items.
