This Chinese famille Rose Vase is decorated with the 8 Immortals. You will notice that the female immortal appears twice, once alone and once with two other immortals. I also believe the people in the pagoda are deities but I am not sure. As you can see children surrounds the immortals. Because of glare from camera I was not able to capture the fine detail of the hand painted drawings on the vase.
This vase is from the province of Jiangxi. I am not able to read the mark but I would appreciate hearing from our fellow rubylaners who speak Chinese so they can tell me what the markings say and what the written portion says.
This vase is signed on the bottom and also is signed by the artist. I have included a picture of what appears to be either a poem or some other writings. Again if anyone can translate the writings I would greatly appreciate it.
I would date this vase anywhere from the - Early PROC. The vase is 15 inches tall.
The vase is in excellent condition. Any questions, please email me.
