This victorian brides bowl was made by Webb Glass of England. It is decorated with the famous Jules Barbe hand painted gold decoration. He was a master of this type of decoration. The bowl is a cased custard glass with a pink interior. This item is elegant in its simplicity and I have not seen a large decorated bridges bowl before using the Jules Barbe decoration. I usually see these in vases. The bowl has a polished pontil and is in excellent condition.
Stand is marked Rogers & Bros triple plate and has the # 5 520 l/2. The stand has some sort of lotus flowers on the feet and in all I would say that this has a chinese or oriental influence in the design.
Measures: with basket about 11 l/2 inches tall and about 9 l/4" wide; bowl alone is 9.5" wide and 3.25" tall. The stand has no pits and is in excellent condition for its age.
