Matching Pair to Rare Volkstedt Crossed Sword Mark Figurine, 14 Inches High

This is superb quality late 19C porcelain figurine. The figurine has the German crossed sword mark and the #13 incised in the base. The figurine is unglazed porcelain, the base is glazed. The figurine stand about 14 inches tall. I date this to about 1890's.

The matching pair is listed separately. This one is the boy. He is holding a basket over his shoulder.

This figurine was made by Volkstedt-Rudolstadt. This mark was used between 1894 and 1896 making this a very rare mark. please see below

Volkstedt-Rudolstadt (Germany - Thuringia) Founded in 1894 Founder(s): Richard Eckert Period: 1894-1896 The factory mainly produced luxury porcelain. The mark was entered in the RWZR on 27.03.1894 (Fürstliches Amtsgericht Rudolstadt N° 11), but withdrawn in 1896 after a complaint by the Meissen factory.
