This vase was painted by Josef Ahne in the early 1880's. This vase has the medallion stamp which Josef used for only special items and is also signed by the artist AHNE. The vase is a little over 9 inches high. It shows a young child playing what appears to be a drum instrument. Josef Ahne specialized in figural compositions and this one is a very nice one.
The vase does have a hole on the bottom as at one time someone made a lamp out of the vase. Because of the hole in the bottom I have priced this item at a much lower price than its value. If you wish you can turn it back into a lamp again or use it as a vase (without water of course)
The top rim has a black spot and I believe this was either from the factory or happened when the vase was turned into a lamp.
There are no chips, cracks or other issues. There is some gold loss on the rim. Any questions please email me.
