Art Deco, 1920s Flapper Hat, Cloche Silk Flowers and Jewels

This hat is made of fine, tightly woven rows of silk braid in a deep peach color. The hat has a crown of pink and peach colored flowers caught with a large rhinestone, jewel set, metal ornament. There are silk fuzzy flower centers in the largest of the flowers near the jewels.

The hat is in very good condition. The original silk liner is in place with no shattering of the silk. The embroidered silk label reads: "Established 1880 Classic 14 Inc. San Francisco". There is some loosening of the raffia in the brim from it's wire grid ,and most of the very fine netting which was the underlay for the raffia is long gone. I think the hat is fine without the netting, but if you wanted it to be in it's original form, then the netting could very easily be replaced. A few stitches will secure the raffia in place once again also. With some very minor restoration, this hat can be brought back to it's original state. As you can see in the photos, the hat presents beautifully now as it is.

There is no staining on the body of the outside body of the hat, and all of the flowers are in place. There is a little staining on the forehead area inside on the silk lining. It is slight.

The inside circumference measurment of the hat is 22 inches.
