This is a delightful, 1920's-30's set includes five manicure items and a complimentary brush. The manicure items are made of thick black bakelite with a stripe of silver-toned metal down the center. The bakelite on three of the manicure items is actually 1/4" thick. The manicure items are in good condition with no cracks or chips and the steel utensil parts are in great condition too. The stripe down the middle of the bakelite handles is an inlaid strip of metal with a silver-tone finish. There is wear to the silver finish, but nothing you would not expect from a set of this age. The nail buffer is covered with a soft kid leather and is lightly soiled. The vanity brush is constructed of silver chrome with a raised relief framed design around a center black enameled top with a center chrome shield ready for a monogram if you so desire. The bristles are nylon, complete, and rest in a faux ivory base. There is some dim spotting on the finish on one side of the brush, perhaps was sprayed with perfume. The longest piece of the manicure set measures 5 1/8" long and the brush measures 5 7/8" long and 1 7/8" wide. A very striking set to compliment any vanity. Would be great for a Gentleman or a Lady.
