Vintage Porcelain Brooch With Gilt Asian Symbols

Lovely vintage oval brooch with prong set porcelain gilt Asian symbols. The brooch backing is brass or goldtone (has taken on a dark patina). Safety clasp (looks like the closure was replaced - may have been an old C clasp). Forgive me - I'm not certain of the way in which the symbol should be placed so I've shown it a couple of ways.

The brooch measures 2-1/8" by 1-5/8". A previous owner has etched on the back her name and city (see photo). Lovely vintage condition (wear, as can be seen, on the back of the brooch).
