Vintage Small Bronze Door Knocker
Charming door knocker, more decorative than functional since it does not make much noise when used. I assume it to be bronze - a magnet does not adhere and it's extremely heavy for its size. The patina on the handle is also the truest to bronze - where it would have worn. The remainder of it has a gilt finish.
It measures approximately 5-1/2" by 3". There are two holes in the back, one of which seems to have been drilled to the front - the other is in the back only (so that it might have been attached from the back, penetrating only partially through the metal). There seems to be some sort of paint residue here and there, mostly in the back.
This is a charming object to lay in a bookcase or to use as a paperweight.
