1940s Mink Fur & Silk Hat. Amazing design & construction!! Mint condition.
The crown, with its intricate pleating of silk gabardine, slopes down off the top and to one side. The mink pelt, which includes the tail and rear legs, starts at one side and continues around the crown sloping off and down to the other side. It is fully lined and inside is edged with satin piping and grosgrain ribbon.
At the front the crown rises approx. 5" and decreases to approx. 3" as it curves around and folds on itself. The inside measurement is 21 1/2". (Please note that the model head is smaller than a real head.)
This creation looks fabulous on and must have been a truly elegant addition to any outfit.
Condition: Mint, gift-giving condition. The fur is supple and glossy with no signs of wear. I can find no flaws and it is spotlessly clean. This was a cared for, prized possession.
