Brock being a facsimile edition published by Mayflower Books, NY, 1979. 1st ed. Thus. First published in 1929. Hardcover with salmon cloth binding and gilt lettering on the spine. 102 pages with black endpapers. 8 Color plates and numerous line drawings in black and white. Red ribbon silk marker.

This was the 11th Gilbert and Sullivan opera and was first performed at the Savoy Theatre, London, on 3 October 1888. Gilbert's lyrics and Sullivan's music are as fresh today as when first performed. In this facsimile reprint of the 1929 edition, the lyrics are accompanied by color illustrations by Russell Flint, President of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolor, whose work is very collectible today.

These facsimile editions revive the pleasure of collecting beautiful books and bring delight to collectors who would have no chance of acquiring the originals.

Condition: Fine, scant rub to the bottom of the spine. Dust Jacket has few areas of rubbed and missing color on front and back.
