This lovely Victorian aesthetic era sterling brooch carries a beautifully engraved tall flower with wide leaves. Two of the blossoms and a pair of the leaves are applied gold in 2 tones.
The oval brooch has a crenelated edge around a fine beaded border.
It measures over 1-3/8" x over 1". An early c-clasp secures the pin. It is unmarked but it has been tested and it is sterling silver. I can't test the gold without damaging the images but I trust that the parts are at least 10k.
It is light weight at 4.8 grams making it easy to wear even on the thinnest cotton lace blouse.
Condition: this was originally a locket and was altered early in its life as the pin mechanism is antique as is the c-clasp, the silver work is clean and tidy and hidden when the brooch is worn.
I have several of these Victorian aesthetic era brooches. See last photo - they look wonderful as a grouping.
