Sterling Enamel Souvenir Spoon Jamaica Pre-1962 Colonial Motto

This pre-1962 sterling souvenir spoon from Jamaica is topped with a detailed version of the national coat of arms. It addition to being pierced and enameled, it carries the colonial era Latin motto 'Indus uterque serviette uni' (the Indians twain shall serve one Lord). This motto was replaced with Independence and now reads 'Out of Many, One People.'

The spoon measures 5-1/4" long x 1-1/8" wide across the bowl.

On the back of the handle is the maker's mark RH and Sterling.

Condition: the handle has a small bend, some enamel chips (most notable is in the middle of the word "uni" in the banner).
