White Border (1915-1930) Black Americana Piccaninnies Alligator Bait Postcard Unused

This is an early unused postcard from the Ashville Postcard Company. It is titled "Alligator Bait". It features a trio of little boys on an island in a swamp and a looming alligator. Within the image is a poem by E. Hale. It reads -

Three little piccaninnies sitting on a log, Along came an alligator sliding through the bog; When they spy the alligator they'll begin to scatter. If you'll look, you'll understand just what is the matter - Alligator thinks he'll feast - likes the taste of a *igger. But they'll beat him in the race - this he doesn't figger. ---- E. Hale

There is no cancellation date on the card. These cards generally date from 1915-1930. Standard size card, printed on early non-linen finish cardstock.

Excellent condition with a hint of corner softening. Non-smoking home. No funky smells.

The card will be packed between cardboard to insure a safe delivery.

I have a number of Black Americana postcards in my shop. See last photo - they make a nice collection.
