This is an early set of 6 sterling handled blunt knives by Whiting in the Louis XV pattern. Each measures 8-1/2" long. They are monogrammed with initials that appear to be MLD.
The sides are hallmarked with the Whiting logo, Sterling, Pat. 1891.
Condition: rubbing to the plating on the edges and raised parts of the steel blades, one blade has some pitting near the tip, typical age related wear to the sterling.
