Rare 19C Wedding Souvenir France Bridal Display Box
This rare find is coming from a French estate. It is dated around 1850/70.
The glass box has a lovely lozenge shape, the glass parts (sides and top) are joined by an old golden ribbon. The ribbon is on the top ruffled. The bottom of the box is also lined with braided ribbon.
The lid is decorated with three hand painted redbreasts on a cherry tree (?) branch.
Inside two wonderful corsage two roses made of satin, one surely snow white, nowadays a little bit yellowish due the age. The third flower is probably a passion flower; it is made of lamb leather.
The condition is very good. There are some age traces to the ribbon, some dust too. The ribbons are possible here and there re-glued. The painting shows some loss, not annoying.
Measurements: 5.2 x 5.2 inches, height: 2 inches. A charming old piece.
