19C French Purse Made of Veritable Tortoise

Lovely purse made of veritable tortoise, French origin and dated to the Napoleon III Era about 1860/70.

Tortoise plaques on both sides, wonderful chocolate grain. On one side a silver cartouche with monogram. Inside lined four compartments laid with blue silk. Good and clean preserved – one small hole present.

The condition is very good, the tortoise shows some tiny surface scratches.

Measurements: 3 x 2.2 inches, 0.7 inches in depth.
