Russian Silver Spoon Moscow 1879
This beautiful antique spoon is made 1879. It is very elegant; it has a twisted handle ending with a small knob. These lovely knobs of the most Russian spoons remind me of the church towers of the Orthodox Russian Churches.
The bowl shows an intricate floral engraving, inside golden gilded. The hallmark is on the side of the handle: MN (makers mark), 1879 (dating), 84 for 84 Zolotniki silver purity (equal to 875/1000) and the town mark of Moscow (St. George slaying the dragon).
The spoon is in very good condition. It has 5 inches in length and weights 16 gram.
