Beautiful Stanhope Rosary Bone Cross and Wooden Pearls ca. 1900/20
This beautiful rosary is coming from Germany. The fine hand carved cross is made of bone, black painted and shows in the "magic eye" the Church of Maria Hilf (Mary Help) in Amberg, Germany. A place of pilgrimage with long history, the church was build end of the 17th Century.
The paters are also made of black painted and hand carved bone. The beads are black too and made of wood. They show a beautiful polish.
There are also some religious medals. Two are made of white metal, one shows the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus. The other shows the Benedictine abbey of Andechs and The virgin Mary. The Abbey of Andechs is a place of pilgrimage on a hill east of the Ammersee in the Landkreis of Starnberg (Upper Bavaria) in Germany.
The condition is very good.
The rosary has a length of 32.4 inches.
