19th Century Era Excellent Portrait of a Lady
Excellent small portrait of a lady. A noticeably expensively dressed lady; she wears beautiful clothes of the times and precious jewelry.
A notice on the back side says that this lady is Josefa Tschurtschebthaler, born Penz, dead 29 March 1834 to the age of 67 years. Josefa was the second wife of Martin Johann Tschurtschenthaler, mayor of Innsbruck. Internet sources give some information about this mayor.
Gouache on paper, very good preserved colors.
The small portrait has its original frame, ebonized wood, in good condition, some age traces present. Protected by original glass.
Measurements: 9 x 10.8 inches, the portrait measures 3.6 x 5.6 inches.
