Superb Porcelain Plate about 1900 King Salomon Sacrificing to the Idols
This is a wonderful highly detailed transfer print of a mythological scene, King Salomon sacrificing to the idols. An excellent scene with a lot of persons in an antique temple. The transfer print has many wonderful hand painted enamel accents.
The plate has vibrant colors, a deep red border with green ornaments and five windows for beautiful laurel wreath. In the middle the mythological scene of King Salomon.
This plate comes from the Austrian Manufactory Altrohlauer. Green stamp on the back size M Z (for Moritz Zdekauer, founder of the manufactory), a double-headed eagle and a crown and Austria. This mark was used for all the china objects made before 1910. This manufactory was the processor of the famous C.M. Hutschenreuther Manufactory.
The plate is in very good condition, just a minuscule painting loss and some wear. No chips or hairs. Diameter: 9.6 inches.
