Delightful large pietra dura brooch; superb stone mosaic depicting a small flower bouquet: rose, forgot-me-not, Chinese lantern plant (RARE!) and lily-of the-valley flowers made of chalcedony, turquoise and , carnelian stone pieces. The leafs are made of green agate, the base is a deep onyx plaque.
The brooch has a fine gold mount – not stamped but tested, 14 K - rare for the Victorian era. The mount has lovely looped decorations.
The condition is very good, two small turquoise flower petals are missing, hard to see – please consider, the pictures are highly enlarged! The needle is possible replaced or re-fixed, it works very good, old security clasp.
Superb Florentine Mosaic ca. 1860/80 – a great Grand Tour souvenir. Measurements: 1.6 x 1.1 inches.
