19C Beautiful Hand Painted Opaline Casket

This box is made of the most beautiful turquoise opaline glass. The glass is very thick; lid and sides are hand painted. The floral pattern on the lid is very fine done, a colorful pansy and lovely forgot-me-not flowers. Gold arabesques are adorning lid and sides.

The bronze mount is gold gilded and wonderful engraved. Hinge is well working.

The condition is very good; some flea bites on the edges – nothing important. The old white glue is here and there (especially on the back side and inside) around the bronze mount visible. The hinge is properly working.

Measurements: 2.7 x 2.7 inches, 1.8 inches in height.

I am not sure about the provenance; this kind of boxes was made in the 19th Century in France and Bohemia.
